That's why LivingWord is the first hand-drawn animated Bible.
(which means no modeled characters, no rigs, and, denifitely, no AI. Just good old animation)
MEET OUR TEAM
We are average Christians who believe the Bible is alive and powerfull. We believe the Spirit is alive in us and empowering the Church to continue spreading His word and bringing it to new life as culture and times continue to evolve.
I'm an engineer who left his career to follow the Lord's call to ministry. I began teaching Bible at a local highschool here in the DR — that's where I met Mario. I learned animation and started working with BibleProject, and then Mario and I had this crazy idea to make an animated Bible!
I'm an animator and graphic designer based in the Dominican Republic. I've been working with BibleProject for over 7 years now. I'm also a deacon at my local church and Bible teacher at a highschool, where I met Abraham. Some years ago we got the crazy idea that we should animate the whole Bible!
All stories start at the beginning, and this is no exception. In our first episode we'll see the story of the world and everything in it, as well as the biblical image of what humanity is and God's intent for us.
Goal: $30,000 USD

FAQS
Why does each episode cost $30,000 to produce?
Creating an animated Bible is a complex and costly process, from in-depth Bible study and scriptwriting to ensure theological accuracy, to all the cost of creating hand-drawn animation. We need to pay for voice acting, animating, compositing, editing, sound design, etc. But this cost doesn't only cover the production of the episodes themselves. There's a lot going on behind the curtains in an animation studio; things like software subscriptions, web hosting, social media and community management to name a few.
In summary every dollar contributes to making the first ever fully animated Bible in beautiful and engaging hand-drawn animation and all of our additional study resources.
How long will it take for the first episode to be released?
Short answer: It depends!
At our current speed, episode one will be ready anywhere from 4-6 more months. That's where you come in! As we get more supporters and can afford to have our team grow, episodes will be produced faster. Our goal for now is to speed up the process to 2-3 months per episode, and then be able to work in multiple episodes at a time!
Where can I watch the episodes once they are done?
Initially, our episodes will be released on our YouTube channel, so subscribe so you don't miss them! Soon after everyone will be able to find all our content here on our website. We also have plans to make a LivingWord app where the animated Bible and additional content will reside.
